Advertising or no, in America (which is what SCEA is concerned with in case you forgot) games like MAG and uncharted are going to have a much greater draw then WKC or folklore. You wouldn't want SCEJ putting its ad money behind warhawk would you?
And in the case of demons souls, it was better off with atlus, as if sony decided to publish it it would have gotten overshadowed by Uncharted, ratchet, and the price cut.
