No, because a patch won't fix the fact that the drive is incapable of doing it.

The drive is capable of playing DVDs.  Homebrew allows the Wii to do it.

I wish more people knew that.

Last year Nintendo realeased a new revision of Wii´s which made it inpossible to play dvd´s even with the homebrew apps but on Wii´s before that revision you can play dvd´s

What do you mean by 'only originals work'.  Are you talking games, or movies, or what?

both, if you want to play backups you will need to play through the usb instead if you get one of theese new ones

So it would still play regular movies?  That's what this thread was about.

I don't care if it doesn't play pirated stuff.

it´s not about pirated stuff even if it can be used that way, its about ease of use as you can rip all your originalgames on a usb memory stick or usb harddrive and always have access to them without the need to switch discs and you can also add every game as a channel so its pretty cool feauture.
