I think outlaw's point was, that Soriku likes some "girly" stuff himself, and not to discriminate based on how it looks.
I mean, stuff like K-ON, Haruhi, Lucky Star, or Yotsuba (see my avatar) is seinen, primarily directed at older guys. I can understand why one would be hesitant to read/watch this stuff, I'm sure most of us were at one point in time. Society (or people around here, at least) often tend to look down on it.
Still, I suggest looking into it if there's any interest at all. It'd be silly pass up on something enjoyable just because other people find it girly or lame.
