For me favorite game and only owning one game are very different. Only owning one game means only caring about replay value, whereas my favorite game is wholly determined by how much I enjoyed playing and not really how much I'd enjoy playing it again in the future.
Where I list two games, the second one is the game I'd have if I could only own one game for that system whereas the first is my favorite.
NES: Super Mario 3 / Duckhunt
SNES: Lufia / Super Metroid
GENESIS: Sonic 3
N64: Super Mario 64 / Golden Eye
Dreamcast: Soul Calibur
Gamecube: Tales of Symphonia / SSBM
Wii: SMG / SSBB (?)
Note: Lufia was the first RPG I ever played.
