VF5 is the deepest and most well balanced fighter I have ever experienced. It has always been a underrated series, which is a shame.

I have never understood all the love Tekken gets. A poor mans VF in every aspect in my opinion, but to each their own.

To be honest I've never played a Virtua Fighter. I plan to pick up VF5 one of these days.

Mortal Combat

If Mortal Combat is your type of fighter then you should stay away from VF5 or any VF game for that matter. Button mashing in a fighting game is dumb.

Aren't fighting games suppose to be buttom smashers, or am I wrong.

If you want to just pick it up and have some quick fun then sure why the hell not, but if a fighting game is a button masher there is no balance and it takes away any competitive experiece that could be had.
