Acclaim Entertainment went bankrupt in 2004. A company called Acclaim Games purchased the logo, but they have nothing to do with them. A company called Throwback Entertainment bought 150+ of Acclaim's games. As far as I can tell*, it looks like Turok is not a part of that. The last Turok game was developed by Propaganda Games, which is part of Disney Interactive Studios. It seems they didn't want to publish it, so they slapped the Touchstone name on it instead. Touchstone is merely a label owned by the Walt Disney Company, and does not exist as a separate company, so they can do that. Looking at Disney Interactive Studios other games, it seems they have never published a Mature game, so that is probably why they didn't put their own name on it. In short, it looks like Disney has the current rights. *Here is a list of their games: http://www.throwbackentertainment.com/games/index-2.html |
Oh my giddy aunt
