I didn't buy my Wii because of innovative marketing I bought it because of Wii Sports and the controller. My brother in-law had a system and my family played it and loved it we bought one as soon as we could find it. My Wii system sold 4 other Wii's its first year only because of people playing Sports and enjoying it. The Wii was able to expand into the non-gamer demographic because of its pickup and play controller. I have a PS2 but only two of my friends ever bothered to learn how to use a gamepad style controller everybody young and old has been able to master the Wiimote in a few short games.
