Jay Leno's audience is getting old, and I hope the ratings get as bad as they can.
Conan rules!

I'd be surprised if that audience comes back honestly. The fact that the audience didn't move with him pretty much indicates they were there more out of routine rather then liking the show. With 7 months of the routine being broken... will they come back?
Maybe if they went to Letterman or Kimmel or whoever, but that's not what happened. Ratings indicate these people went to Cable dramas and the like. Shows they're now invested in...
I don't see it going too well for Leno.

im coming back
|
A) Sample of 1... and not what TV experts expect.
B) Why weren't you watching his show at 10?
|
I do watch the Jay Leno show...not as much as when he was on the Tonight show though
and what i meant by im coming back is I will follow Jay Leno back to the Tonight Show timeslot...I been a fan of Leno since im 9-10 years old I wish Conan luck he's a funny guy but Leno's show is better
|
Your not really one of the people I was talking about then.
I'm talking about the tons of people that weren't watching is 10 show that made him bomb so bad affiliates needed to kick him off the air because they were costing them tens of millions.
|
I just read he was getting on average 5 million viewers at the 10 timeslot...is that really that bad when there is a lot of competition at 10 from CBS ABC etc? and to be fair Conan wasn't do any better in fact I read he was only averaging 2-3 million viewers
|
He was doing so poorly the affiliates threatened to drop him if NBC didn't get rid of him. He was costing NBC affliates a ton of money.
Yeah... he was doing REALLY badly. The affiliates were going to air reruns in his place... because he was getting beat by reruns like CSI Miami.
VS Conan who wasn't losing money... in a timeslot that in general gets less ratings. (NBC actually tried to claim it later in the week, but that was debunked as a fudging of figures.)
Actually a LARGE part of the drop in Conan and Fallon's numbers are considered Jay Leno's fault.
Since, Leno ALSO dropped the ratings of the channels local News stations.
His prime time show gets people to turn off the tv afterwords.
|
so your saying EVERYTHING is Leno's fault? |
So are... pretty much everybody in the TV industry.
The whole ratings drop was Leno's fault. Or rather NBC's decision to put Leno in the 10 spot.
Leno further made things worse by agreeing to the move when he had already said he wasn't going to.
Leno has ALWAYS been seen in the industry as something of a self promoting person who will turn on you at the drop of a hat.
During a comedy strike he fed strike information to the club managers for example.
