Yeah, they built a good foundation for him turning even with the horrible dialogue and acting, but the way he turned was just silly. It literally went from being a good little Jedi to killing babies.
I guess they had to make room for the 45 minute fight between Anakin and Obi Wan to make any sort of gradual change.
