I did read your initial post though, which made very much sense. Sony, while still being able to snag a fairly decent sized casual crowd, has just always been better at capturing the core fans. They need more universal appeal in their games, which something like ModNation Racers will again attempt, and once they start reaching that market in full, should have no problem with a couple of 5mill+ sellers. They struck it big with gran Turismo, now it's time to shift focus if they want that appeal. They've just always been ok with 2-4 million sellers that receive a lot of buzz and score really well. |
Fair to say. I can't imagine there is a company that would be upset with having "only" 2 - 4 million copies sold for many of their games, heh. Thanks for the reply though. I am unsure of the Gran Turismo bit though. It seems equally likely that it has managed to define the genre, or it has managed to get a broad base appeal. Perhaps it is just both.
