3D is ok in theaters, when you only have to watch a 1.5 to 2.5 hour movie. It's still unfocused and annoying and I'd rather watch the standard full HD version for the best clarity and less eye strain. Transitioning over to gaming means whoever is watching/playing would need to buy the expensive $100+ glasses, plus at sessions exceeding 3 hours which can happen quite often, I'm sure it would really start to give most people bad headaches.
3D TVs just won't make any impact for another 2-3 years minimum. By then we will be starting the next generation and won't have to worry about a thing. I still would rather have everything in the standard HD over 3D. Its cool sometimes, but mostly a gimmick, and definitely not worth it until they can make it 3D without glasses.
