I use Java ps3 media server to stream video to my ps3.

Though I have to disconnect from the internet otherwise the video lag will make it unwatchable.

Disconnect your computer? Or the PS3? I only get lag when trying to watch 1080p material with subtitles.

I have two routers, internet comes in to the other one and it has only 1 ethernet port. the ethernet cable goes to the other lan-router via ethernet cable which has 4 ethernet ports.

My ps3 and pc are both linked to the lan-router via ethernet cables. Everytime I want to watch something I just shut down the internet-router. So it won't suck the network speed.

And I can stream 1080p videos with subs too with no lag now.

Gigabit LAN router? Or you just set a limit on the Mbit/s?

I have some files that try to play back at about 200 Mbit/s...

the router is speedstream 5450, with four 10/100 Mbps ethernet ports.

I use Best Quality settings for the video playback and I have not limited the speeds.

Guess I'll just play with the setup to see what I can do.
