It seems HDdvd is on its way out. however, my brother has a BR player and it takes a long time for it turn on and be able to read the disc. Is this normal for BR players? or is it just this particular Sony product. My HDdvd player is much much faster loading. |
It depends on the player. The new Sharp BD player loads up a disc in less than 16 seconds, on average, while many older BD palyers take well over 30 sec., some over a minute.
What model HD DVD player do you have? It's hard to compare without knowing that. The A1s, for instance, took a long time to boot up (1 min.+), but the A2s took less, and the A3s have improved upon that. Then there are differences between the A2s, the A20s, and the XA2s, etc.
The ps3 and the 360 add-on load the fastest by far, because of the powerful processors in the two consoles.
