I'm not going to claim I understand why people are attracted to various social networking systems, but most of the really successful systems are free (or very low cost) and are available on a system which everyone already has (the PC). Facebook, Myspace, Second Life, Habbo Hotel and the countless other social systems are (essentially) free and will run on (just about) any hardware ...
Even the PS2 at $100 is too much of an expense for people for a social networking system. Home will likely fail because for the vast majority of people out there, their friends will not be on the system and it is therefore of no use as a social networking system ...
