Congratulations are in order, especially in light of the year headstart for the 360. With that said, it has to be put into context of what the breakdown is wrt to supporting the industry...a vast majority of the software sales have been 1st party titles, and that's great for Nintendo, but it doesn't support the ecosystem. The Wii still has a ways to go to replace the 360 in that regard. |
Actually the Wii does provide a healthy ecosystem for third parties. The problem has been the 3rd parties. They heavy invested in the HD systems when it was revealed at E3 that the Wii was not going to be HD. Then they were unprepaired for the success of the Wii and did not have games developed or in development for the Wii. Wii sports became a phenomenon and 3rd parties decided that the console was casual and began to develop cheap cash in titles. If third parties really invested in the Wii like they do the HD systems then they'd be very happy with their ROI.
If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
