Well considering that even the game's creator fully expected the game to release in March until just a few days before it was formally delayed, I find it unlikely that it could possibly be delayed more than a few months and it's almost definitely for marketing purposes rather than development.
Seriously, what foundation destroying glitch can you find in a game that you've been working on for 3+ years in the span of half a week that would cause it to be delayed for 9 months? It's Sony that's keeping the game from us, not Polyphony Digital.
