PS2 is almost 10 years old and i still play a lot, mainly 480p games, almost as on PS3 and PC.
PS1 and Saturn is quite impossible for me to play, too much dated, but i still find fun in some very old games from Megadrive.

I don't recall the PS2 ever being able to do progressive scan.

I have 3 titles on top of my head that did it: star ocean till the end of times, valkyrie profile and radiata story.
