I still have my Genesis, Gameboy (no colours), Dreamcast, N64, Xbox and of course Xbox 360. The only console I sold was the PS1. Well I sold the genesis as well, but bought it back later.
I remember the times when games had no save option. The console had to run all the time. Just pause and turn the TV off. get back to it later. My genesis was turned on for weeks when I played a whole season of a soccer game. Of course it worked well. No RRoD or YLOD ever.
I think my most fanatic time was when I played the N64. I read tons of magazines, because there was no such thing like "internet". Okay, there probably was a internet, but it was not common to have access to it. I was so hyped for games like Zelda OoT, Goldeneye or Diddy Kong Racing. Now my N64 is collecting dust as well.
I used my original Xbox 2 or 3 times after I bought the Xbox 360. So yeah, I love thinking about the old times and machines, but I only play the current gen systems. I will never sell any of my systems again.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
