It could very well become the second best selling console game of all time. It needs to beat Dragon Quest 7 at 4.12 million. That doesn't seem too unlikely.
That would be second to only the original Super Mario Bros.
Including handhelds, I'd estimate that it should range within the top 8-12 best selling titles of all time.
It's could rank even higher than that worldwide.
