I just got through reading this article. My favorite piece: (This is very much a 'Sony game'). Not only do I agree that it is, but I'm glad they mention that. Give better insight into Sony's tastes when it comes to sales. They prefer these artsy, story-driven games that don't do 10-20 million in sales, not even 5. They just prefer the top-notch quality, which as a gamer is most important.

Thats like totally not true. You're just spinning the fact that they haven't had a few massive sellers by saying 'oh they wanted it that way'. If they had released 2-3 5M + sellers you'd be singing another completely different tune 'gamers just respond well to quality Sony first party titles' or something like that. If SCE could make a game equivalent series of Spiderman they would!

It isn't? You can prove that it isn't, even when the article itself hints at it? Sony has a track record for these types of games, that's just the way it is. Who did I insult in there? Where in there do I say that they don't want high sales? Frankly, Sony's games have never done huge numbers, and haven't had to. People enjoy their games, and that's what matters most. Shame you can't see that.
And, I said the games they prefer don't sell those huge numbers, no "spin" applied.

Your answer is dictated by the most positive way to present Sony on these forums. They have tried and failed thus far to get genuine 5M+ selling franchises out. Had they done so your answer would be different because you'd change your tune to whatever is happening at the time.
Where did you say they didn't want high sales? No you didn't say that, you said "They prefer these artsy, story-driven games that don't do 10-20 million in sales, not even 5. They just prefer the top-notch quality, which as a gamer is most important." Which is like 100% BS. They are a business and they thought that pleasing the hardcore audience would work to sell the system. Since that hasn't they have changed tunes and you'll see them release many more casual type titles such as Mod-nations racers, wait for E3 and you'll see. As a business quality is subjective and means jack all, if they do well its reflected on the bottom line. A quality title for them is one which moves units and they don't care how it does it.
If the games don't sell huge numbers especially given the development + advertising budgets are moving past $40M for their titles and they are deliberately releasing more niche titles then they are fools who deserve to go out of business. However they are not fools they are simply making bets on a wide variety of releases in the hopes that one or two stick.

It's already been explained what I meant. At this point, you're just looking to perpetuate a non-issue.

Do not try contradicting his opinion with facts ! You might derail the thread !
