Seems they are probably going to add some reward as well as probably keep the ranking to ensure players are on a level playing field. Also, looks like they might be adding some additional things for reputation and social history. Probably unlockable items to where and leaderboards. I honestly don't think they will have unlockable items that affect gameplay. One of their design leads talked negatively about that aspect of MW2 on their latest podcast.
