personally to help you with that. i was in the same position you were in because i was buying a lot of pointless games and i wouldn't play them or i would lose interest. its something called picking up another game and playing it and coming back to the other game when you feel iike it. there are some games that are true "duds" and suck and you simply feel like you were bought on to hype to play them rather than you actually yourself enjoying them first hand. and then you get bored and you make a thread like this.

i was playing resident evil 4: wii edition yesterday and got really pissed because i was messing up and i said to myself well i did beat the game already on the gamecube and ps2. so whats the difference in the wii edition other than controls. so i stopped playing it because not only was i getting frustrated but i was getting really bored of it and then looked at this thread and said "wow i really see where this member is coming from, maybe i should rethink my buying decision on games and buy what i know what i will enjoy rather than buying every single game". well to solve that i accepted that:

a) i'm a video game collector
b) i'm not going to finish every game
c) i'm not a completionists
d) i buy cheap games in they are mediocre (according to game critics or fanboys) to build my game collection.

I agree with the fist part of this post, but i dont agree at all with the four points you have made, it almost contradicts the first paragraph.

a) I m a videogame collector, >   Agree, i also love to collect games, but there is a huge, HUGE diference into buying a U$4.99 flea-market painting that is done over and over again, and a U$4.99 unique Van Gogh painting.

With the videogames you may not find the same "Apples to apples" view, but if you put me 1 great game at $59 dollars (No more Heroes) instead of 5 crapware-games(Most of those Wii Party Games) at U$15 dollars, you wouldnt have to about which game a REAL COLLECTOR would chose.

b) Well, which is the point of having a collection for painting if you are not going to appreciate it at all and just put it on a deck so people can said you are quite smart ? I see this as me, walking in the 50-Cent house, and found it full of the Louvre Museum paints. Man, honestly, i would laugh a lot about how foolish he tries to pretend be part of the "culture society".

Now, with gaming, it is pretty much the same ! You may not know, but lots of graphics you find in R.E. 4, are real !, and they have a meaning not only by themselves, but also liked to their position in a certain stage of the game. The sames goes for other kinds of content such as the Naruto Anime Series, lots of the techniques, characters and so on are takken from the Japanese mitology. Same goes with most of the RPG games, you can find persian mitology, greek mitology, nordic mitology. I m not that great in literature, but i found lots of linked-quest for the Tales of Symphonia GCN game and the spaniard classic "Don Quijote".

Collecting games without looking at them is like collecting stones from a building construction.

c) Pretty much the same as the last point, however, i have tried everytime to complete Zelda, but i just can`t, i still keep trying for the sake of the art ! XD :P  (Serious ! )

d) No point at all, i buy cheap games, only if they are great games. I can not buy every game when it comes out at U$59 dollar, i have to way some years to buy it at U$19. But i dont buy crap-ware no matter how cheap it is. there is just no point.
