That's the issue most have been struggling with. You just can't make Re5 for the Wii from the HD console version, most of the game has to be redone, and then you get into the issue that your Re5 Wii is going head to head with Re5 HD and a significant percentage of the dual console owners will pick the HD version... Despite what some claim here there has not been a demonstration this gen that users will pick a tuned down version of a game with Wii control over a more graphically attractive one with traditional controls... Typically what has happened so far is when a game was released on all 3 consoles it was either not graphic/cpu intensive ( rythm games) or the HD version were far from taking full advantage of the console they were on ( SW Force Unleashed for example).... |
That's what I was about to chime up and say. One of the reasons third parties was initially hesitant to working on the Wii was because of the controller. They felt if they made a Wii game, they would have to focus on using the Wii controls primarily. But now they don't. Many games, from Nintendo itself but also third parties, have come out using a myriad of other control methods from the classic controller/GC controller to tilting the Wii controller and using it like an NES controller to just using the basic Wiimote without the 'waggle'. Pretty much now there is little to no excuse a third party can make for not making a game on the Wii aside from 'we want to make a game in HD' or 'we don't think it will sell well to that market'. Which both of those excuses are pretty weak and based purely on their lack of effort in making Wii games.
As for taking existing HD games and turning them into Wii games, that's near impossible. The graphics would have to be totally redone for Wii.
