It is only in the same universe as Final Fantasy XIII, its made by a different development team, has a diferent setting, different ideas, different composer. It was never intended to have any relations to Final Fantasy XIII other than the Crystals or whatever they said. They should have just named it something else, but my guess is they know the Final Fantasy brand will help it sell.
