Looks pretty bad. Even you ask, "What if they leave now?"
Well, then who's going to do the innovating in the future? Sega? lol
edit: Let's pretend Nintendo wasn't in the race. In the first 2-3 years of this gen we're stuck between a machine that costs $400-600 dollars, and one that has a failure rate of something like 30%? Ouch.
