Pretty much any Metal Gear game after MGS1 is guilty of at least one stupid plot twist. MGS2 and MGS4 are (however) the absolute masters of the craft (of stupid plot twists).

Disclaimer: I own and enjoy all MGS games, and MG on the NES. MGS1 was the pinnacle of the series, but I enjoy them all... even if they have wonky plots.

I can understand why you think MGS4 had stupid plot twists but you have to admit, MGS2's plot twist was very philosophical and intelligent.

Well, MGS2 was good in terms of the "its all a simulation (or driven by simulation in this case)" and the "Matrix-esque" realization of life not being what it seems - very Platonist (alegory of the cave).  I myself happen to be a Platonist, so I can appreciate that.  On the other hand, the SoL/Patriots thing has been done much better - check out the Illuminatist Trilogy.

We both agree on MGS4, so nothing to say there.

I must admit that the "Colonal" going haywire at the end of MGS2 was a classic and funny WTF moment - dialogue... priceless.
