1. Wii sensor bar has only two leds.
2. Your new avatar is crazy hot.
Based on my gameplay with MP3 I would say the Wii has some knowledge of its distance from the tv.
6 LEDs could give you more accuracy based on the software built into the device. But, I think it would essentially just give you a better range to use the device as more light is emitted.
