When my BR drive stopped working Sony replaced it for free even though it was out of the 1 year warranty. Another time they delivered a new HDD caddy + 4 screws for free and took a couple of days to get here. I heard their PS2 customer service was mostly shit so I guess they've improved there.
The various times I had to get my 360 replaced took from 2-4 weeks. With a month of XBL Gold each time. I had to talk to an Indian guy the first time but he seemed competent and I could understand what he was saying. Good CS from both companies, shame about the actual hardware.
