It's not a version.... this is just a semantics thing but you wouldn't say "Nevermind, I haven't played the 2nd version of Gears of War" when you mean GeoW 2.
"Version" is used for things like "gold version" of pokemon, or "Wii version" of Resident Evil 4.... not when talking about sequels that have entirely different content.
