Third Party Devs have made up their minds about the Wii.

Precisely. Even if the cores aren't there, you MAKE them migrate! You just cannot ignore such an istalled base! Instead, most companies insult their own target audience, they put out "tests" or crappy games, then accuse the platform of being incapable / inhospitable >_>

For example, why didn't capcom make RE5 for the Wii? Certainly not because the demographics aren't there, as evidence by RE4:Wii's sales. If anything it was about graphics and the developer's wishes.

This is why I don't think it's about sales or demographics, for most publishers at least.

 

I'm not so sure anymore...

Third parties have screwed up so badly with the Wii, it's impossible to recover. Most people nowadays don't even care about the games the Wii gets, especially multiplatform owners. They're being bombarded by a constant wave of quality titles like Batman, Uncharted 2, Demon's Souls, MW2, etc. 

In my humble opinion, third parties SHOULD focus solely on HD, and only on tried IPs like CoD, Assassin's Creed, Madden, Pro Evo, etc. Nintendo will be fine, and if I were running that company, I'd have frankly blocked out all but quality support from 3rd parties. You want a piece of the cake? Give us RE6, not Ada's Chronicles : The turd. They are in a position to do it, and it wouldn't hurt them a bit.
