Personally, I prefer achievements.
- The trophy level system isn't obvious
- It's hard to see your trophies
- It's hard to compare total trophies with a friend
- I like numbers
- When I have 600 achievement points in a game, I have a good idea where I'm at achievement wise. When I have 12 bronze trophies, 2 silvers, and a 1 gold I have no idea where I am.
- every 360 game has trophies
- platinums are cool, weird when you count DLC
Ultimately, neither is better, it just comes down to preference if you even care.
