Why would they? There's no benefit to owning EA. Instead, why not buy a couple of old IPs that they own but really do not make games for any more like populous or something else.

Nintendo would have to rework EA's corporate strategy, change the overall business model, and change the way they approach making games. It will be very hard and time consuming. A lot of talented people would leave because their ideas would conflict with Nintendo's business practices, policies, and procedures. Furthermore, EA is too bloated and needs to shrink. There idea of being successful is by buying up developers and their IPs and adding them to their own has not yielded much success for the past two generations. Westwood is gone and so is Bullfrog and Pandemic.

Nintendo does not need to get involved in that mess. All they need to do is buy IPs to develop those games themselves. It will be more fruitful with less frustration and problems in the long run.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
