In relation to Nintendo for example, they could have a Power Stone once a generation like Smash Bros. Panzer Dragoon could be a Star Fox type deal. Streets of Rage could be the beat-em-up. They have Phantasy Star and whole bunch of other stuff to support them (at least in sequels) throughout a gen, every gen. I don't understand why they don't treasure Sonic like Ninty does Mario though. Sonic is a major player---if they devoted time to release just ONE great 3D game a gen while maybe making the 2D handhelds or one Project Needlemouse, Sonic could go back to selling 2m average at least (but the last few titles have sold around 1.3m, except for Black Knight) |
