Well there's a lot of hype for just a spin off but something tells me in the end itll be depicted just as big as any other main FF game and not just a spin off, especially with the people working behind it, and itll meet the satisfaction and fun factor any AAA game presents. Many are looking more forward to this game then the actual FFXIII so it has to say something.
Seems like FFv13 will probably be the last biggest 3rd party exclusive this gen. (Unless it gets multiplat then the title goes back to MGS4 for being the last big 3rd party exclusive lol)
