Well It's true. Look at the best 09 sellers that aren't Nintendo.

1 - Monster Hunter Tri (Only out in Japan so far) - 1 million
2 - Guitar Hero 5 910k
3 - Toy Story Mania 730k
4 - Tiger "RAWR" Woods 730kish
5 -Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 - 720k
6- Disney Sing It: Pop Hits 720k
7- Just Dance 690k
8- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition 670k
9- Guitar Hero: Metallica 620k
10- Fifa Soccer 10 600k

So outside of Monster Hunter Tri nothing hit for a million in 09 for releases. Though to be fair Tigers Woods 10 outsold It's 360 and PS3 counterparts, as did Guitar Hero 5 and Cabela's Big Game Hunter (by upwards of 600k. That's huge).

Well, when you can find something on the same budget/effort level as Resident Evil 5, Left 4 Dead, or Assassins Creed 2, then we can talk.

Until then, I'm not listening.

Oh I realize that. From that list I don't see anything big budget. I don't know of Madworld or HOTD or The Conduit budgets either but I imagine they can't be much. The only one I remember that was heavily commericialized on that list that wasn't multiplatform was Just Dance, as in Internet ads. I don't remember seeing much TV ads. I was just showing people a list of the top 10 non-nintendo titles for 09. HOTD and a few others still did pretty well just not top 10 level for the year.

Sorry about that, shouldn't have directed that towards you.

Madworld, HOTD, and The Conduit were all successes despite their relatively low sales anyways. Joystiq is pretty ignorant when taking potshots at the Wii like that though.
