A better hardcore racing game would be possible, as Mario Kart is definitely casual, but:
- as hardcore it would have a smaller, although devoted, audience
- it would need a proper wheel with pedals and gear lever or pads to be played at its best, to be purchased separately at higher price than a Wii Wheel, furtherly shrinkng the potential audience
So a better racer would be possible for hardcore tastes, but it couldn't even dream of being a better seller.
