A month or so ago I posted on here about a choice that I thought was going to be interesting for him. The two healthcare bills that they are trying to merge have some competing ideas in them. One of the bills wants to tax the rich more, and the other wants to tax high value insurance plans. Obama is on the side of taxing high value insurance plans.

I wrote about how this poses a problem for him, because most people with those plans are union workers, and that's his base. I wanted to see how he would handle making a choice his base didn't like, but he was doing because he thought it was the right thing.

Well, he solved the problem in the most despicable way. He exempted union workers from it. They don't have to pay the tax until 2018, yet anyone else with that plan will (a.k.a Republican).

Of all the things he has done, and he has done a lot of shit, this is the one that pisses me off the most. It's a complete disregard for what his office stands for. It's one thing to change policy because you think it's what's best for the country, but to just reward the people who vote for you at the expense of everyone else is just sickening.

There is no way to justify this kind of action as "good for America". it's just good for him.

FYI: I don't have one of those plans, so I am not mad because it effects me.

Sounds like it may be an equal protection violation to me....

Oh yea, I hear we have a Supreme Cout around here somewhere to take care of these things. I have not heard a word out of them in years however, with respect to anything Bush or Obama wants to do.

Not sure why we still have them really. They don't seem to do anything about the big issues.
