I've been using Ubuntu since 2004. I love it. I've loved how much it's progressed, and I love that it's not Windows. I can still play games, through Wine, I run my MUD off it, a webserver, I do daily back ups of my code with a cronjob and it's not Windows. Did I mention it's not Windows? Because it isn't.
I'm also with Soleron. If all you do is play facebook, e-mail, surf the internet, youtube, Linux is perfect for you. Once you start needing specific programs/tools it becomes increasingly harder to NOT use Windows, but I refuse to go back regardless, I will always find a way or just go without. :D
