This is a chart of sales relative to 2008, it should take most seasonal factors into account automatically. Shortages still have effects on it though, so it's not conclusive on the matter of NSMB driving Wii sales, but it's strong evidence regardless.
Price cut is around week 40. NSMB released a couple weeks before black friday, the only week that Wii hasn't been strongly up YoY since.
