This is probably true, but the reason why it isn't mainstream is the problem. If it was marketed right, it would be mainstream, Clever advertising can make a game mainstream.
It didn't have the history or standing to build upon that other games have, I think Sony overestimated the effect of Killzone and perhaps should have marketed Killzone 2 as a new IP and build it up from there.
I'm still struggling to believe its selling so poorly in comparison to a lot of very average games, it's been included in some amazing BF bundles, it's dead cheap and it's received rave reviews. It should be selling far better than it is even if it isn't mainstream.
I mean, can it be selling that much worse than Liberation?!
They could realistically do something that would kick start the sales, but it would be a gamble when there's some really big games coming out that they really shouldn't be making the same marketing mistakes with.
Or just ignore that, i'm just a massive Killzone fan.
