I am a member since it is available for AOL users. I used AOL back then and it did not work with XBL for the very first year.
One day, I read online that it was available for AOL users. I called my father that he had to buy this Xbox Live starter Kit when he is coming home from work. He bought this thing and I tried to get online. I did not know that I had to have a creditcard for this.
So I asked my mom if she has a creditcard. She said "yes" and I said: "okay, I need this for some online stuff". She was not amused. She thought I would get into a very strange deal. She actually read ALL the terms of agreement. I couldn't wait to play online, but she didn't stop. She read it all.
After some serious words like "be careful" or "don't give anybody any information!" etc I could finally play Moto GP 2003.
Today any 11 year old says I am cheating and my mom is a slut. They need a mother like mine.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
