So I was planning on skipping Sky Crawlers. But after reading a particularly glowing IGN review, and feeling the need for a good Wii flight sim, I decided to bite the bullet. Let me say I'm glad I did.

First off I'll say that I was pretty biased against this game from the start. While I adore flight sims, I hate anime- I think it is just lame beyond belief, and seeing how this was an anime inspired  flight sim I was damned skeptical. Well I was wrong. Sure I still would prefer a more gritty design, but this game has it where it counts. Gameplay and fun.

The control is supreme, when compared to Wing Island or Blazing Angels this game just feels smother and more natural. This is a game that could only be done (well) on Wii or PC (via joystick).

The sound is spot on, and the voice acting is campy- but in a good way, its very fitting.

The graphics are quite decent too, with the aircraft models being especially fun.

The thing that has really hooked me though is the variety and replayabuity this game is very pick up and play, and kid friendly while also being fun and challenging.

If you enjoy flight sims, and are a Wii owner this is certainly worth a look. It's not perfect, the ground textures for instance are only so-so. But it is a really good trip into a genre that is quite rare on the Wii (or anything these days).
