Disney demographic in the West...it's pretty obvious that in Japan most people buy KH are likely FF/RPG fans which explains the big drop offs in sales vs. the West where the game has legs and NA alone ends up outselling FF. Plus why would HW matter for a game like this...it was expected to outsell 358 in Japan because it's the more important title. It would outsell 358 even on the PS3 or Wii.
Good HW and KH sales.

KH2 first week sales in NA are 29.7% of it's total sales, FF12 FW in NA is 32.8%
Now, take into account the fact that this half of a year was, eventually, a major difference, considering the fact that PS3 was about to release, and you get my point.
Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.
