You sound bitter because someone didn't give the game YOU thought was GOTY the same credit. Not everybody thinks the way you do and not everybody feels NSMBWii is GOTY material. Best to just get over it, it's not that serious.

How am I bitter? More people would call NSMB the GOTY but this isn't a popularity contest amongst the whole gaming population. Its simply a'core' gamer contest and throw away games with good graphics and shooting tend to win the day. Games which have little staying power shouldn't win GOTY awards, but the gaming press is pretty terrible and has always been terrible at these kinds of things.
