MontanaHatchet said: Gran Turismo 5 will be a big seller, there's no question about that. But it will have to deal with a much lower userbase (PS3 not selling like the PS1 and PS2), as well as a fragmented fanbase (there are a decent amount of GT fans who likely bought 360s and Forza). GT5 could get to 10 million if it gets lucky (or there's a good amount of bundling). Halo: Reach, on the other hand, is practically guaranteed for 10 million. I see it winning in the end by a good amount. This will be a full-fledged Halo game, and it will be hyped up to heaven. Personally, I can't wait to play it. |
i'm not agree.
the userbase when GT3 or GT came out were less than 25M consoles, and still, they did great, with more than 10M+ units sold.
the fanbase of GT series it's intact, you can quote me on that, in fact, it's bigger than before since now the game is more expanded to the mainstream thanks to the PS2 and its piracy.
i can see GT5 getting the 10M mark in a year or two.
Halo:Reach imo, will not get into the 8M let alone 10M, why? because 70% of the Halo 3 buyers are casual gamers and if they don't see a 4 in the cover of Halo:Reach, they'll not buy it, just like Halo:ODST. besides this, it's normal to see a decline on the sales of the series since it's the 3rd game in the same system (4th if you count Halo Wars). The only chance to get more than 6M sales it's the Marketing, and even if you think that it'll be massively hyped...Natal will take most of the money for ads.
i can bet i all of my statements.
it seems to be that most of the users in VGChartz are doubting about the size of Gran Turismo series.
