Not talking about actual battle mechanics or upgrade paths, etc. Just, which do you like better the seamless FFXII style (where world map and battles all occur in the same 'space') or FFXIII (and all other "main" FF) style battles where you go into a separate "fight sequence" style event.
I've just seen lots of hate for the FF XII style and am curious as to how many people really hated it. I played through almost that whole game with no gambits and I did just fine and I prefered the "no loading" style fo seamless battles. I am bummed they got rid of it :(.
Though, I do see some stylistic bonuses to a separate battle event (for instance, you're fighting a boss and the camera can zoom around etc. showing you exactly just how epic the boss is), but I'd take less loading any day.
Which do you prefer and why?
