gem could (potentially) have better tilt steering.

anyways, doesn't gem require to be processed via the ps3 hardware,...GT would probably have to take the graphics down a notch in order to support it.  i'm doubting this idea very much.

Maybe if you didn't mind holding the wand up with one hand so that the PSEye can see it clearly. Awkward to use both hands without obscuring the magic glowing ball at the heart of Gem's technology.

Perhaps Sony could make a Gem Wheel which would be easy for the PSEye to track.

the magic glowing ball would only be one point in space.  the gem (and correct me if i'm wrong) has accelerometers and gravity-sensor-thingies just like the wii-mote.  The glowing ball is only for the third dimension measurement.   So, just like mario kart wii can do tilt stearing with it's IR camera hidden in the wii-wheel the gem should too.

So, you're just guessing that the Gem might have better accelerometers than the sixaxis? I'm actually unsure whether Gem has accelerometers or not. I've seen people suggest it has, but it always sounded like supposition rather than specs from Sony. BTW, the accelerometer itself is the gravity sensor, since gravity is a constant source of acceleration.

Well, if it does have accelerometers, Gem might be more comfortable to hold for tilt control. I find the grips that make conventional game pads so comfortable for buttons and thumbsticks become clumsy when you're tilting around. I still don't see why GT5 would be delayed for the sake of Gem if Gem isn't going to do anything for steering that the sixaxis doesn't already do, and sixaxis support was long since implemented in GT5:P.

correct, i'm just guessing.  ...and like i said in my first post, i doubt GT will have gem support.
