Innervate said: Lost Odyssey, a RPG that is not only as long as FFXIII but is not as restrictive, wasn't compromised due to the limitations of DVDs, why does FFXIII get a free pass? Maybe if Square-Enix didn't focus so much on uncompressed audio and video, among other questionable design choices, they wouldn't had run into this hurdle. This is also assuming the content wasn't purposely removed to cheat consumers. |
Lost Odyssey is a great deal shorter than FFXIII from what im hearing. I personally beat LO under 30 hours. FFXIII probably looks better and probably has better load times and a stable framerate. It is the technically superior game. It's also rumored to be over 40 hours just for the main quest. And whats wrong with uncompressed audio and video? They provide for the best experience avaliable.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
