I'm now more convinced than before that this is in preparation for a budget line, because of the what I previously viewed as the biggest discrepancy - both Trilogy and Metroid Prime 3 being discontinued. While I could sort of understand Trilogy possibly eating into Other M sales due to its being 3 games for the price of 1, discontinuing Corruption didn't make sense - it's a good game, almost anyone playing it would be another potential customer for Other M, and it wouldn't be in direct competition to Other M. So why have both Trilogy and Corruption been discontinued? In order to make place for 3 budget titles - Metroid 1, 2 and 3 each sold separately, at a total price probably higher than Metroid Trilogy. This would increase the potential market for Other M without competing with it as directly as Trilogy (on a single disk and at the same price as Other M) would have.
