That was always my position on it as well. The game is as successful as one could optimistically expect.

Saying it didn't meet expectations is not quite the same as not calling it a hit. Wii Music MASSIVELY under performed, but there is still talk of a sequel for it. The game made money, so clearly it was a hit. Not all games are as big a hit as one might hope at the outset though. Thats my position at the least.
If a game does well enough to get a sequel, then its clearly a hit. Dunno how you could argue otherwise.
I'll also admit to thinking the PSPGo flopped, but I hadn't heard an official statement from Sony. I am surprised at their expectations, but I am going to guess the people that get paid million of dollars to come up with a business strategy have a bit better of an idea what they are doing. Mostly I feel this is true as I lack the aforementioned 7 figure salary, although I am open to new offers.
