@Gnizmo : If Sony REALLY expected to sell more than 3 to 5 millions lifetime from a new IP from a declining genre from a small unknown independent studio, then they were really crazy...

There's no way a new IP will sell more than Halo or GT... Not a chance. I mean, that's the most they could hope really.

That was always my position on it as well. The game is as successful as one could optimistically expect.

@Euphoria
Saying it didn't meet expectations is not quite the same as not calling it a hit. Wii Music MASSIVELY under performed, but there is still talk of a sequel for it. The game made money, so clearly it was a hit. Not all games are as big a hit as one might hope at the outset though. Thats my position at the least.

If a game does well enough to get a sequel, then its clearly a hit. Dunno how you could argue otherwise.

I'll also admit to thinking the PSPGo flopped, but I hadn't heard an official statement from Sony. I am surprised at their expectations, but I am going to guess the people that get paid million of dollars to come up with a business strategy have a bit better of an idea what they are doing. Mostly I feel this is true as I lack the aforementioned 7 figure salary, although I am open to new offers.
